Tournament Information

The 2nd Annual Hockey Fights MS Massachusetts Tournament will take place June 12-14, 2015.  All games will be played at Haverhill Valley Forum in Haverhill, MA. Haverhill is located just 45 minutes north of Boston and is easily accessible from I-495.

Proceeds from this event will benefit The Partners Pediatric MS Center at the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children. Selected as one of six regional Pediatric MS Centers of Excellence by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Partners Pediatric MS Center is dedicated to caring for children and adolescents with Multiple Sclerosis and related demyelinating disorders.

 

Tournament Details

• Tournament is open to Men’s (A, B, C), Women’s (B, C, D) & Co-Ed teams 

• Four (4) game guarantee. Games will be played with (3) 12 minute stop time periods. 

• Players should be prepared to play their first games as early as 5:00pm on Friday.  Teams typically play 1 game Friday, 2 games Saturday, and 1 game Sunday.

• Schedules will be posted on our website approximately 2 weeks prior to the start of the tournament.

• Game results and standings will be updated on our website throughout the tournament and will also be posted on Twitter at @HockeyFightsMS

• Award for 1st place teams in each division

• Raffle with great prizes!

Team Rules

• Teams must have a minimum of 10 players and 1 goalie prior to the registration deadline to qualify

• All players must be at least 18 years old to participate and can only be rostered on one team.

• All players must register and pay online in order to participate.  Unregistered players caught playing in the tournament will be ejected immediately and the game will result in a forfeit for the offending team.

• All players must be on the roster.  No substitutions or last minute add-ons.

• Players should bring both light and dark jerseys, including numbers on the back.  Home team wears white, away team wears dark.

• Players must sign the score sheets located at the registration table before the start of each game and should come prepared to present a valid photo ID.

• Co-Ed teams must have a minimum of 2 women playing each game.  Failure to comply will result in a forfeit of the game.

Game Rules

USA Hockey Adult rules will be observed with the following exceptions:

• Minor penalties will be 1:30, Major penalties will be 3:00

• Any player receiving 4 minor penalties in one game will be ejected from the remainder of the game with no further suspension.

• Fighting majors will result in immediate suspension from the tournament, no exceptions and no refunds!
