Tournament Information
The 11th Annual Hockey Fights MS Pennsylvania Men's Tournament will take place in Bethlehem, PA the weekend of August 11-14, 2016. Proceeds from this event will benefit The Multiple Sclerosis Wellness Program at Good Shepherd Network in Allentown, PA. Games will be played at the Steel Ice Center which is located in South Bethlehem within walking distance of shopping, dining, lodging, and entertainment including the Sands Casino and Outlets. Some games will also be played at The Rink at Lehigh Valley in Whitehall, PA.
Also taking place during the tournament is Musikfest. Presented by ArtsQuest, this 10-day festival will include over 500 musical performances on 15 indoor and outdoor stages located throughout the city of Bethlehem. Past performers have included Stone Temple Pilors, Maroon 5, Boston, Fuel, Hootie & The Blowfish, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Miller Band, Ke$ha and many more! In addition, Musikfest will also showcase over 60 food vendors, visual arts and craft vendors, and a closing-night fireworks display. Hockey, live music, and an abundance of delicious food - what could be better?
Tournament Details
- Tournament is open to Men's A, B, C
- Four (4) game guarantee on NHL size rinks. Games will be played with (3) 12 minute stop time periods.
- Games start Thursday night for local teams. All players should be prepared to play as early as 12:00pm Friday.
- Schedules will be posted on our website approximately 2 weeks prior to the start of the tournament.
- Results and standings will be updated on our website throughout the tournament and will also be posted on Twitter at @HockeyFightsMS
- Awards for 1st place team in each division
- Raffle with great prizes!
- Tournament merchandise and action photos available for purchase onsite.
- Tournament t-shirt is included in registration fee*
Team Rules
- Teams must have a minimum of 10 paid players and 1 paid goalie prior to the registration deadline to qualify
- All players must be at least 18 years old to participate and can only be rostered on one team.
- All players must register and pay online in order to participate. Unregistered players caught playing in the tournament will be ejected immediately and the game will result in a forfeit for the offending team.
- All players must be on the roster. No substitutions or last minute add-ons.
- Players should bring both light and dark jerseys, including numbers on the back. Home team wears white, away team wears dark.
- Players must sign the score sheets located at the registration table before the start of each game and should come prepared to present a valid photo ID.
- Teams who do not show up for a game will not be invited to play in future tournaments.
Game Rules
USA Hockey Adult rules will be observed with the following exceptions:
- Minor penalties will be 1:30, Major penalties will be 3:00
- Any player receiving 4 minor penalties in one game will be ejected from the remainder of the game with no further suspension.
- Fighting majors will result in immediate suspension from the tournament, no exceptions and no refunds!
