Tournament Details

We are excited to announce Hockey Fights MS will be hosting our first ever tournament in Virginia this year!  This event will take place June 21-23, 2024 at Chilled Ponds Sports Ice Complex located in Chesapeake, VA - just 25 minutes from Virginia Beach!  Plenty of room in the parking lot to tailgate and bring your own camper or RV!  Registration is open to Men's (B, C, D), Women's (C, D) and Coed Rec teams. Proceeds from this event will benefit MS Hope and will be used to fund clinical research on the role of nutritional strategies for slowing or halting MS disease progression.

Player Fee Includes:

• 4 game guarantee starting as early as 3:00pm on Friday. All players will play a 4th game on Sunday. Games will be played on NHL size rinks and will consist of (3) 12-minute stop time periods.
• Tournament t-shirt guaranteed to players who register and pay by May 31, 2024
• Minimum $15 per player donation to MS Hope - official tournament beneficiary 
• NEW! Captain gift, special gift for champions in each division, and MVP awards
• Competitive divisions determined based on information provided by players at the time of registration.
• Game reminders sent to your phone via email. Game results and standings will also be promptly updated on our tournament website throughout the weekend.
• Camper/RV parking available for overnight stays (RV pass required and available for purchase on the HFMS Online Store soon!)
• Opportunity to purchase tournament merchandise and team photos.

Team Rules

• Teams must have a minimum of 10 fully registered players and 1 fully registered goalie prior to the team registration deadline to qualify (May 24, 2024). Captains will then have two weeks to finalize their rosters.

• All players must be at least 18 years old prior to the start of the tournament and can only be rostered on one team per division (i.e. Men's, Women's, Co-Ed).

• All players must register and pay online prior to the registration deadline in order to participate. We do not allow on-site registration, subs, or roster changes after registration has closed. ALL players must be on the official roster. Unregistered players caught playing in the tournament will be ejected immediately and the game will result in a forfeit for the offending team. In the event of a goalie injury, arrangements may be granted at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

• Co-Ed teams must have a minimum of three players of the opposite gender on their roster (excluding goaltender). At least one player of the opposite gender (excluding goaltender) must be on the ice at all times. Failure to comply will result in a goal being awarded to the opposite team.

• Players should bring both light and dark jerseys, including numbers on the back. Home team wears white, away team wears dark.

• Players must sign the score sheets located at the registration table before the start of each game and should come prepared to present a valid photo ID.

Game Rules

USA Hockey Adult rules will be observed with the following exceptions:

• Minor penalties will be 1:30, Major penalties will be 3:00

• NEW!  Any player receiving 3 minor penalties in one game will be ejected from the remainder of the game with no further suspension.

• NEW! Maximum 3 goals per player per game.

• Fighting majors will result in immediate suspension from the tournament, no exceptions and no refunds!

• NEW! Hockey Fights MS reserves the right to ban players from participating in future tournaments due to unsportsmanlike behavior, including falsifying registration information.
